Dr. Xiaomeng (Mona) Xu
Dr. Xu is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Idaho State University. She holds a B.A. in Psychology from New York University, an M.A. in Psychology from Stony Brook University, a Ph.D. in Social Health Psychology from Stony Brook University, and completed an NIH-sponsored Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at Alpert Medical School of Brown University and The Miriam Hospital. She joined the ISU Experimental Psychology program in 2013.
Dr. Xu's research focuses on cardiovascular & behavioral health (e.g. physical activity/sedentary behavior, weight control, and smoking), close relationships (especially romantic love), and neuroimaging (fMRI). Dr. Xu conducts basic research in each of these areas as well as more applied research in the overlaps. Dr. Xu also researches these areas in the context of individual differences and culture. Additionally Dr. Xu is interested in pedagogy and mentoring.
